Funky Fish is a fascinating piece of Atari history—an unreleased 1983 prototype created for UA Limited and based on the obscure Sun Electronics arcade game.
 
Take control of the Funky Fish in a colorful underwater shoot-’em-up! Use your bubble blaster to eliminate the schools of guard fish protecting five mysterious bosses. Defeated enemies transform into falling fruit, but grab it quickly—if it reaches the bottom, it changes back into an enemy! Keep an eye on your limited energy, follow the underwater radar to locate each target, and recharge by reaching defeated bosses.
Destroy all five bosses to advance to the next challenging level.
 
Originally completed but never commercially released for the Atari 2600, Funky Fish is an unusual and entertaining addition to any prototype collection.
