Originally released for the Atari 8-bit computer family in 1982, Fort Apocalypse is a classic multidirectional scrolling action game from Synapse Software.  Now this Atari computer favorite has been converted for the Atari 5200 SuperSystem.
 
Your mission is to penetrate the heavily defended underground stronghold known as Fort Apocalypse. Pilot your Rocket Copter through twisting caverns, narrow tunnels and enemy installations while battling hostile helicopters, tanks, missiles and deadly defensive systems.
 
But destruction isn't your only objective. Deep inside the fortress are 16 prisoners waiting to be rescued. Search the underground complex, pick up the captives and deliver them to safety while continuing your descent toward the heart of the enemy base.
 
Your Rocket Copter is equipped with both forward-firing weapons and powerful bombs. Blast through barriers, destroy enemy defenses and carefully maneuver through hazardous passages where one wrong move can send your craft crashing into the cavern walls. Laser traps, moving obstacles and relentless enemies make every trip deeper into the fortress increasingly dangerous.
 
Survive the Vaults of Draconis and the Crystalline Caves, rescue the prisoners and fight your way to the lowest reaches of the complex. Your ultimate objective lies deep below the surface—destroy Fort Apocalypse and escape alive!
